This Control Panel is the same as the one opened from the Dialing Properties button on the Modems Control Panel, except that from there only the My Locations tab is shown. This allows you adjust the default settings that you created when you first installed a modem. You can add locations if you are a mobile user so you can set up the dialling properties for office or home, or in a different country even. In this tab you can change the area codes, type of dialling (pulse or tone) and whether a prefix is required to dial.

If you are using the card from a public phone (or a friend's) you can now choose to use a calling card. Calling cards are set up with your phone service provider (BT, Mercury, etc) and allow you to call from a phone other than your own through a special number into which you enter a PIN. The charges are then made back to your home telephone bill, not having to be paid for on the spot. The Calling card defaults simply allow quick access to the numbers you need. You then need to enter in the number that is required to access the calling card feature in the sequence dialog opened from the button at the bottom of the Calling card dialog. You also need to enter the PIN that will identify your account to the phone service provider so the charges can be billed.
